What To Know About Drakes $185 Million Dollar Air Drake Plane

When you’re the biggest rapper in the world, it’s only right that your lifestyle reflects success, right? Well, in Drake’s case, he’s done something unheard of, by acquiring a $185 million private Boeing 767 back in 2019.

According to reports, the airplane was gifted to the “One Dance” hitmaker from Canadian airline Cargojet because they were convinced the present would pay for itself from all the publicity — and people haven’t been able to stop gushing about the aircraft ever since.

The insanely expensive Boeing 767 is what Drake -- who also owns one of the most expensive Jordans sneakers -- and his entourage use for all business and touring trips, and includes a bunch of luxury features that only the super-wealthy could afford. Appropriately titled Air Drake, here’s why the father of one’s airplane has such a huge sum attached to its price tag.

All About Air Drake

According to TMZ, in return for the expensive gift, Drake will take photos while on the road and post them to his social media handles, which boasts of more than 100 million followers combined.

It’s a pretty sweet deal. When Drake first revealed his aircraft in 2019, it was said that CargoJet had also customized the airplane before giving it to the Grammy award-winner, including an entirely new design with “Air Drake” and his signature “OVO” owl painted across the Boeing 767.

While the aircraft itself was reportedly built 25 years ago, according to Travel and Leisure, it was refurbished after Drake’s acquisition to fit all of the rapper’s needs when on tour or simply traveling on vacation with family and friends.

As photos show, the outside of the airplane is painted in baby blue — which is said to be one of Drake’s favorite colors — while the inside is drenched in gold finishes, endless mirrors, and full of fancy seating.

Air Drake can fit a whopping 30 people, big enough to seat his entire entourage, while the cabin itself looks more like a huge lounge than a plane with wide-screen TVs, lamps, and tables filling up the enormous airship.

In a statement to announce the partnership with CargoJet, “Hotline Bling” chart-topper said, "Supporting homegrown businesses has always been a top priority of mine, so when an opportunity came up to get involved with a great Canadian company I was honored to do so.”

President and Chief Executive Officer of CargoJet, Ajay Virmani, continued, "We are very excited to partner with Drake as our ambassador and assisting him with his logistical needs and requirements.

"We have had a lengthy relationship with Drake and this partnership has grown organically between both parties. CargoJet and Drake are both great Canadian successes, we are thrilled to be partnering together."

News regarding Drake’s fancy plane came just one year after reports claimed that Kanye West had also been using a double-decker Boeing 747 while on the road with his Sunday Service choir.

It’s unclear whether the airship, which seats 660 people, was bought by the rapper, whether it was rented, or whether it was gifted to him, but to say that West traveled in style throughout 2018 would be an understatement.

His estranged wife Kim Kardashian hinted that the airplane was given to West by his “Team Adidas” for his Yeezy brand, which would indicate that the father of four, does, in fact, own the Boeing 747.

West has yet to confirm this.

Inside, the “Stronger” lyricist has a luxury double-bed suite, marble bathroom, lounge areas, guest rooms, comfy cushy seats, a large dining area, and other areas that make flying private all the more fun.

No word on how much the aircraft costs, but given its amenities, it could probably be higher than Air Drake — though, it doesn’t really matter since both are believed to have been gifts to the hip hop stars.

With an estimated $1.8 billion net worth, West clearly isn’t short of money, nor would he need any help in purchasing a jet of that size himself, while Drake’s fortune has recently jumped to a cool $180 million.

With the founding of his own production company, a number of successful TV shows, containing to dominate the charts with every new release, and recently announcing the opening of his own venue called History (in partnership with Live Nation), Drizzy’s earnings could soon be just as high as West’s.

Not to mention he also has a partnership deal with tons of companies including Nike, Apple, which are probably two of his biggest endorsements right now. In 2018, Drake had reportedly generated $100 million on Apple Music and Spotify royalties alone.

Drake is expected to release his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Certified Loverboy, this summer.
